Congratulations and thank you for determining that you want to serve the "common good" by running for political office in Alabama’s June 2018 Primary Election. The "common good" should be a concern for all citizens, and, as you well know, there is by no means full agreement on how best to achieve it.
People of diverse opinions in and around our Fredonia community in northern Chambers County would like to meet you and hear your reasons for wanting to serve us. The Fredonia Community Club warmly invites you to participate in our "Introducing the Candidates" program Tuesday May 15, at our historic Fredonia Community House, 6160 County Rd. 222, just west of the intersection with County Rd. 267 (Five Points AL for GPS). Press releases inviting the public will be sent to the Valley Times News, LaFayette Sun, and Randolph Leader, in addition to our Free Fredonia Times. There may also be radio and television announcements.
We shall begin at 6:00 p.m. CENTRAL time with a light finger foods supper, then at 6:30 move into the adjacent room where each candidate will be given two minutes to introduce themselves and say why they want to serve (If we have 15 candidates, that will take just over 30 minutes; hopefully there will be more candidates participating). It is likely after 30 or 40 minutes, some of the older folk who are accustomed to thirty minute programs will need to leave quietly while we continue with at least fifteen minutes for burning questions and candidate responses; following that people can mingle and and engage directly in conversation.
