Clark-Frieson Signs Energy Consumer Protection Pledge

Charlotte Clark-Frieson has signed an Energy Consumer Protection Pledge in support of energy and environmental policies that ensure households and businesses in communities across the State of Alabama have access to affordable, reliable energy to help meet their basic needs.

The candidate recognizes that "regardless of political affiliation or income level, it is important to stand behind energy development that fuels our homes, the economy, and aides in national security, all while sustaining our environment -- because we can and must do both."

This pledge, designed by the Consumer Energy Alliance (CEA), was developed so that consumers can identify candidates and elected officials who believe (1) Families, especially those living at or below the poverty line, and businesses need access to affordable, reliable energy; (2) Comprehensive energy and environmental policies will encourage both responsible energy development and conservation of our environment, and (3) American innovation and investment in our workers will allow us to achieve energy independence.

The Consumer Energy Alliance believes in supporting responsible energy developoment and a healthier environment; and the two cannot to be partisan issues. The alliance also believes that "just saying no" isn't a solution to ensure access to affordable, reliable energy for our families, our businesses and our communities.
